Students in eighth grade have been learning about chemical versus physical reactions!
Students set up 20 combinations to look for indicators like heat, gas production and color changes to determine whether a chemical reaction occurred or whether just a physical change happened. They used baking soda, baking powder, cornstarch, sugar, water, iodine, vinegar, lemon juice, and a mystery liquid!
