Governor Walz has proclaimed today, Wednesday, Feb. 21, as School Bus Driver Appreciation Day in the State of Minnesota. THANK YOU to our AMAZING Bus Drivers who get our most precious cargo where they need to be safe and sound every day! We appreciate all you do for our kids and our school.

This week, we're thrilled to showcase the incredible talents of our Draw, Paint, and Print Class. Students learned about bold lines and striking colors in the graffiti style of Minnesota Artist Peyton Scott Russell. The creativity and skills of our students are impressive. Recently, kindergarten teachers applied for and received a wonderful grant from Minnesota Valley Electric with Operation Round Up to bring an in-school field trip to Central Elementary School. Students learned how to compare a plant's life in Minnesota to life in the desert, went on a plant hunt through their classrooms to investigate their diverse characteristics through hands-on exploration, and planted their own desert succulent. Thank you again to Operation round up and the ARB!

Central Public Schools ECFE held their Sweetheart Dance last week. The evening was filled with music, a snack and lots of fun activities to keep the little ones smiling all night long!

Last week, students in fourth grade had the chance to visit Fort Snelling State Park. The one and only snow storm that we received this year was timed out perfectly! The students had a chance to go snowshoeing, learn about tree identification and different adaptations that some animals have to be able to live in Minnesota during the winter. They also ate lunch around a campfire while learning about the indigenous tribes that have lived in the state!
