The robotics team is currently preparing for a new season and is inviting any students 7-12 who are interested to join them.
The Nu-matic Ninjas will be entering our tenth season starting January 6. We compete through FIRST Robotics, a nonprofit organization devoted to helping students develop and pursue their passion for the STEM field. Our program gives students the opportunity to learn and apply skills above and beyond what is taught in the classroom. FIRST Robotics promotes not only technical and mechanical skills but also encompasses the whole realm of what teamwork is about. We form relationships with each other, other teams, mentors and businesses available in the community. We learn about branding, marketing, communication, personal relationships, and practicing gracious professionalism.
FIRST FRC Robotics is open to ages 14- 18, however, as many other smaller school districts are doing, we are welcoming 7th and 8th graders to join us to help build our program.
Recently some members took last year’s robot, “Cardi C” out for a spin in the new commons, answered questions and let the students take it out for a drive.
The FRC season kicks off on January 6, 2024 and will wrap up with the regional competition April 3-6. The team will be meeting daily after school during those times, however if a student is only able to commit a few days per week, we still welcome him/her to join us.
Registration should be completed using the "payment portal" on the Central Schools website (ISD108.ORG).
