We are thrilled to announce the revival of the Community Education Advisory Council (CEAC) at Central Public Schools! The CEAC has always been a vital part of our school community, providing a platform for parents, teachers, and community members to collaborate and shape the future of lifelong learning. After a brief hiatus, we are excited to bring this essential council back to life.
The CEAC plays a crucial role in ensuring that our courses in Community Education, are responsive to the needs and aspirations of our students, families, and community. This council serves as a bridge between community and school to promote lifelong learning, as well as providing the community with the opportunity to utilize the school building beyond the school hours. The council helps set policies and develops programs acting as the voice of the community. Some of the recent additions to our offerings are gentle yoga, pickleball and group trips to various theater trips, as well as a fall color tour to Stillwater! By participating in the CEAC, you can have a direct impact on creating learning opportunities for each and everyone.
We have had a few members on the council who have served over 25 years! These members started the annual Fall Craft Fair, which is a big community event and will be held on Nov. 18, 2023. I want to recognize that a few of our current members showed up to help assemble some furniture for the early childhood classrooms at the start of the school year. It is so amazing that when people see a need, they jump in to assist!
We invite individuals to reach out and let us know if you are interested in learning more about our council. Our goal is to engage a total of nine council members before our next meeting date. The perfect council members are: parents, guardians, teachers, clergy, city and county base workers, staff members, and community members who are passionate about lifelong learning and are eager to contribute their insights. CEAC meetings will take place five times throughout the school year. Please join us on November 6th to attend the next meeting and get a sense of what it entails. If you are unable to commit to being a full council member but still want to contribute, we welcome volunteers for specific projects and initiatives, such as the upcoming fall craft fair on Nov. 18, 2023.
The revival of the CEAC is an exciting opportunity for us to work together in ensuring that the Central School District continues to provide exceptional adult and youth enrichment and recreation, as well as quality early learning experiences and wrap-around child care. Your voice matters, and we look forward to your participation in this important endeavor.
