Greetings Central Families!
It is my pleasure to welcome you to the 2023-24 school year! What an exciting time it is to be at Central Schools. As you know, the construction crews have been working hard getting our secondary building ready for the start of school this fall. In addition to remodeled classrooms, the high school will feature many flexible learning spaces which will be conducive to collaborative, project-based learning as well as individual focused work. Our hope is that you will find our new building welcoming and inspiring as we embark on a new school year. On behalf of the faculty and staff, I want to express our gratitude for your support of Central Public Schools!
As principal, I know that students are successful when there is a strong partnership between school and home. To that end, I invite you to reach out or stop by anytime. If you have ideas, accolades or concerns, I would love to hear them. Our school is here to serve you and your family.
We celebrated various successes this past year. Many Seniors graduated with honors and earned scholarships. Students earned credits for college or trade school by taking Concurrent enrollment classes at the High School. We saw Knowledge Bowl, Speech and E-sports teams advance to state. In addition, several athletic teams advanced deep into the playoffs. At the middle school, we celebrated students for their character, academic achievement, and Raider Pride at our monthly assembly. Our middle school girls Technovation team created an app that was presented at the Global Technovation Challenge.
In the 23-24 school year, we will continue this tradition of excellence at Central Schools. This is a wonderful time to be at Central Public Schools and I am grateful to be in it with you. Savor the rest of your summer and I look forward to seeing you this fall.
In partnership,
Rich Larson
